About Me

I’m not a musician but I compose music when I make someone laugh. I’m not an artist but I’m creative when I improvise to accomplish things without having much.  I’m not a writer but my thoughts flow to the tips of my fingers and then… I type.

I’m not a photographer; I don’t even own a camera or the latest gadgets.  But sometimes I capture the reflections of my soul through the lens of my cell phone.  I can’t paint, nor sketch on paper or on canvas, but I describe and paint a picture in someone’s mind.

I don’t have many friends, very few indeed, but the ones I have I cherish deeply.  I’m an introvert and almost a loner.  I enjoy solitude and the company of silence.  I find virtue in the quiet moments.

I’m not a religious person but I’m a follower of Christ who saved me and left me a book of instructions on how to live an abundant life – the Bible.  I’m not a wannabe… I’m a spirit living in a body that strives to keep up with my never aging soul.

I’m a woman who works really hard but finds contentment in small things. I enjoy gatherings with family and friends – the talks, the laughings, the food, and above all, the freedom of being bare – no masks, no ornaments, no makeup of the soul.  I can simply be me.

I’m not perfect but a perfectionist.  I try to do the best I can in everything. I get frustrated.  I’m not as confident in myself as I wish to be.  I get angry sometimes, though very rare.  I have flaws I wish I didn’t and I strive to correct them.  Praise the Lord!  I’m forgiven.

I’m a wife, a helper to my husband Wagner, of almost 29 years. I’m a mother of a beautiful young lady, Vivian, who became my best friend. I’m constantly in prayer to build an Ark of safety for my family as they navigate the turbulent oceans of life.

Home is the best place to be. This is where I most plant seeds of love and reap flowers of joy.

I’m Jaqueline Assis

Launching Trails Of The Heart

Me on Stairs

For some time now I have been thinking how important it is to simplify life and find beauty in small everyday things.  Very often we get so used to having the same ol’same ol’ that we take important things for granted.

Things such as the air we breathe, the rain that nourishes the earth, the flowers that blossom in spring, the sun that rises from the horizon to dissipate darkness, the beauty of the moon and stars…

In the rush of our routine we let some of these wonderful things pass by unnoticed, and yet they fill our lives everyday.  So, here I want to share some of my experiences.  No pretenses, just a plain me.  Maybe you can identify yourself with some of my flaws or virtues as I try to find refreshment for my soul with the blessings that embrace us everyday.  Together, we can encourage and strength each other.

“And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”  Colossians 3:17
