The Heart

The heart is a great machine that pumps blood starting at 16 days after conception and for the rest of a human’s life. Every minute, the heart pumps about five quarts of blood through a system of blood vessels that’s over 60,000 miles long, according to the Cleveland Clinic. That is the equivalent to around 2,000 gallons of blood every day.

We should really take care of this powerful machine that works so hard. I came across a good and practical article on how to keep a healthy heart. Just a few changes can go a long way. I have attached the link at the bottom of this post.

It’s said that the heart is the center of emotions. If this is true, Blue whales must be very sensitive. They have the largest heart, close to the size of a golf cart. Having a large heart or a small one may be interesting, but most important is that we take good care of it. The Bible gives us some advice on the subject.

“Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life.” Proverbs 4:23

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.” Proverbs 3:5
